2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: Bravo Kai, bravo. Something I want to point out even more so with the "Fakers" (Christians who only claim the faith but do not live it), ever notice how the preacher of a church is often called reverend?
2005-01-29 [Malkavian]: Oh dear, my sweet Avoral...You'v
2005-01-29 [Avoral]: Ooh. I never thought of that, Chub. In their defense, could it be that they're just the accomplished leaders in reverence of God? Just a thought.
2005-01-29 [Avoral]: Ah, yes. I knew I could count on you sometimes, my pretty little thing. And yes, I've had it for as long as I can remember. I simply cannot stand it.
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: How can they be accomplished when they choose man's traditions over God's Word?
2005-01-29 [Malkavian]: Not to be mean...but truly does anyone know Gods word? Did the almighty God write the Bible? I've heard many children say he wrote it and gave it to the church...Thoug
2005-01-29 [Avoral]: Touche. I was just thinking of a possibility.
2005-01-29 [Avoral]: That's what I've always wondered. There is proof of changes in some newer editions from the Bible, in which deletions have been made and all that. On top of that, well... Chub, which Commandment was it that was deleted, and which one was split?
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: The Bible itself says that God's hand didn't write it. But He inspired it through those that wrote it physically. And He wouldn't choose people that would change it either, before anyone goes down that road
2005-01-29 [Malkavian]: Inspiration and Truth can be very VERY different things. It could be a hyperbole of what really happened.
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: But inspiration from the Holy Spirit is truth in and of itself
2005-01-29 [Malkavian]: You have felt god's divine...super
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: If you are asking if I've felt the touch of God the Father's own hand then no, but if you're asking if I've felt the touch of God the Spirit, then yes I have
2005-01-29 [psychobunny07]: *claps hands!* yay!! i didnt understand much of what i read..but im sure it was good cuz there were lots of big words and long complex sentences!! yay!!! and justin timberlake was in NSYNC..i could also give u FAR too much info on the band and his life in general..curse my 10 yr old ways..
2005-01-29 [Avoral]: Well, regardless of all that, one cannot deny the wisdom in the Bible.
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: That is certainly true. And if you look at it in depth, there are no contradictions
2005-01-29 [Malkavian]: Yes, there is wisdom. Weather behind God or not.
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: Well, let's look at it this way. We can break God down just a little bit into some more primal elements. God is love, mercy, kindness, compassion and basically all that is good in this world. The Bible shows us how to follow in His light and be holy as He is. So, it is rather logical to think that since He is the source of Holiness in it's entirety then the wisdom that would show you how to be holy would also come from the same source
2005-01-29 [Dumpysaurus]: *heartily applauds essay and runs away in an effort not to be noticed...*
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: *hugs tackles teh Jenny* Ha! I've got you now buggah!
2005-01-29 [Dumpysaurus]: *utters gronking noises* I was raised quasi-Christia
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: Well, there are many things that bother me. Perhaps here isn't the place to post them all, but if you think about it just about everyone will elevate things higher than what they are. Like state loyalties. Who cares about what state you've come from? Your state is no better than any other. Same with countries. In the true sense, if it weren't for man (with, in my opinion, Lucifer's guidance) economy wouldn't exist, we wouldn't be as populated and we'd just be trying to survive, not causing a war for the sake of making sure you have good oil supplies *cough* Bush *cough*
2005-01-29 [Dumpysaurus]: Human nature is gross. (marvel at my all-encompassi
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: It can be sometimes, yes
2005-01-29 [Dumpysaurus]: Well, it's a two-sided thing. But the grossness is pretty overwhelming at times. Gnar.
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: Very much so. There are too many people that are selfish and self centered
2005-01-29 [Dumpysaurus]: It's scary when you find yourself fighting those inclinations in YOU. O_O
2005-01-29 [Priest Kel]: Sometimes. I normally just realize how I shouldn't be thinking so selfishly and I stop
2005-01-30 [Avoral]: Yeah, I'm going to agree with Chub on the topic way the hizell up there. Mostly the part of "Lucifer's Guidance." I believe, if there is a God and a Devil, then Lucifer has actually created a society all for himself. And he's managed to subvert every little thing enough that the average guy may very well burn for a very long time.
2005-01-30 [Avoral]: And YAY! Dumpy, you're the greatest! It's so very nice to see so many people actually do agree with me. And these are people I can quite safely assume really do agree, rather than just people who support me ideally but then run on to worship Johnny. (Am I picking on poor Johnny too much?)
2005-01-30 [Priest Kel]: ^_^ I'm glad you agree with me on that point Kai. God focuses on the spiritual, whereas Lucifer focuses on the material. And we all can see how materialism drives most people in the world
2005-01-30 [Avoral]: Skrait^
2005-01-30 [Priest Kel]: ^_^ Seems like we are on ze same page zen Kai
2005-01-30 [Tails Of the Revolution]: Anthony... That took a while. I'd have to argue with some of your points, because I'm bitchy and Jewish and like that, but all in all, helluva job. There's my two cents.
2005-01-30 [Avoral]: Then let's begin.
2005-01-30 [Priest Kel]: ^_^ Oooh arguements
2005-01-30 [Tails Of the Revolution]: oy gevaldt... you are definitely ruining a nice hot shower. irst one is just a question: What's with the calf reference? Why would there be a gold calf running around< and what relevance does it have?
2005-01-31 [Falx]: Very, very nice job Avoral. My two cents on it is that I think we tend to elevate people to a higher status because they seem to have something we do not. It's sort of like reverse jealousy. We see that they have a talent that is better than our own and there are one of two reactions: Either we loathe them because we'll never be that good or we idolize them because their talent is so much greater than our own. Honestly, I believe that everyone has their own talents and should find what they are good at and not worry about if someone else does it better.
2005-01-31 [Tails Of the Revolution]: Hah! [Falx] gave one of my arguments for me...
2005-01-31 [thesuperman]: uhh...that is an allusion to the bible....the real thing is that the spiritual is based on faith, you must have faith to believe in God and his word. The "real" world does not want to do this. They want to be able to physically see and feel everything they do. this is the whole basis of materialism. You feel, therefore you are.
2005-01-31 [Tails Of the Revolution]: Works for me. quite true, what you just said. That doordefinitely swings both ways, but the essence of it is very true.
